It is said to walk on four or two legs like a werewolf or Bigfoot; one witness claimed it chased her to her car and clawed the door. Reports in the 1980s and 1990s were covered by reporter Linda Godfrey, and an earlier claimed sighting is placed in 1936 at Jefferson. Skeptics see misidentified gray wolves, large dogs or mangy black bears; the Spanish article calls it a pseudo-cryptid. It was the antagonist of the 2005 horror film The Beast of Bray Road.
