Lubber fiend, juga Lob, lubberkin, lurdane atau Lob Lie-By-The-Fire, adalah makhluk legenda folklor Inggris yang mirip brownie (atau Urisk) Skotlandia, hob Inggris utara, domovoi Slavia dan tomte Skandinavia; ia juga dikaitkan dengan Robin Goodfellow. Ia terkenal karena disebut John Milton dalam puisi pastoral "L'Allegro". Biasanya ia digambarkan sebagai lelaki besar berbulu dan berekor yang mengerjakan pekerjaan rumah dengan imbalan semangkuk susu dan tempat di depan perapian. The lubber fiend, also Lob, lubberkin, lurdane or Lob Lie-By-The-Fire, is a being of English folklore akin to the brownie (or Urisk) of Scotland, the hob of northern England, the Slavic domovoi and the Scandinavian tomte, and has been linked with Robin Goodfellow. John Milton's mention of it in the pastoral 'L'Allegro' is its best-known appearance. It is usually a big hairy man with a tail who does the housework in return for a saucer of milk and a spot by the fire. One story makes it the giant offspring of a witch and the Devil. The abbey lubber is a lesser demon that infests abbey wine cellars and kitchens, luring monks into drinking, gluttony and lust; Friar Rush is the best-known abbey lubber tale. Lob also turns up in works by Edward Thomas, Juliana H. Ewing and J. M. Barrie, and in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as a protective household spirit.
