Duneyrr is one of the four stags of Norse mythology that gnaw the branches of the world tree Yggdrasill.

Duneyrr is one of four stags living on the world tree Yggdrasill, together with Dáinn, Dvalinn and Duraþrór. The Poetic Edda says these deer stretch their necks upward to bite its branches, while morning dew pooling in their antlers flows off as the rivers of the world. Grímnismál is the one Old Norse poem that names these stags. Snorri Sturluson summarised the stanza in Gylfaginning: the four run along the branches of the ash and eat its leaves. The same tree also holds the serpent Nidhogg at its root and the squirrel Ratatosk running up and down. In 1824 Finnur Magnússon proposed that the stags stood for winds. He read Duneyrr as 'Thundering in the Ear' and classed it among the strong winds, while the deer biting the tree's leaves he took as winds ripping at clouds. Many scholars regard the stanza naming the four stags as younger than those around it. Finnur Jónsson guessed that there was at first a single stag, later multiplied into four.
